Train-stop

Red means stop. If you pass a red signal at speed, train-stop trips: the train locks and you do not continue until it is reset (you or the CCM, depending on the session).

What train-stop is

Train-stop is the system that stops the train if you pass a red signal. In the game it shows as a full-screen warning: “TREN-STOP”, with the code of the signal you passed.

It is not a bug: you occupied a section under a red aspect. The train sits at speed 0 with the brake on and will not move until someone resets it.

When it trips

It trips when the train nose crosses a signal on your track and direction that is red, and you are moving fast enough for it to count as an overrun (not a crawl up to the signal).

  • Red signal for your direction → pass it at speed and train-stop trips.
  • If you creep up very slowly and barely touch the point, the train may sit waiting for the signal without a full train-stop trip.
  • The warning shows the lamp or code (e.g. the signal name) and the reason: red signal.

What happens in the cab

When it trips, the safety overlay appears. The train will not take power: speed is zero and it is held at the overrun point. Train status shows something like “Tren-stop · [signal] en rojo”.

On COSMOS, the ATP / trip icon may go red and the traction loop (L.TR.) stays not OK until you reset.

How to reset

Depending on the session, reset is done by the driver or by the Metro Control Centre (CCM). The warning itself tells you which.

  • Driver reset: the “Rearmar” button is visible. Press R or the button. The train unlocks and you can continue (carefully, with a clear road).
  • CCM reset: you will not see the button. Call the control centre (cab phone). They clear the train-stop; you get the “Tren-stop rearmado” notice.
  • After reset, check signals and ATP before taking power again. The red may still be there.

Train-stop vs ATP alarm

They are not the same, even if the overlay looks similar and both use R / Reset when it is the driver’s job.

  • Train-stop: you passed a red signal. Title “TREN-STOP”.
  • ATP alarm: you exceeded the speed code (overspeed) or there is code 0 for a red without the same overrun. Title “EXCESO DE VELOCIDAD” or “ALARMA ATP”.
